This was a superb trip and we would highly recommend it and, unlike the review below, nothing like the Golden Circle at all. The views from the mountains were breathtaking. The guide made a couple of impromptu stops, and was informative and entertaining. The drive through the river was great fun, droplets of water freezing on the outside of the windows as we went. Well worth the money, though I guess the driver-guide is down to pot luck and we were very fortunate on this occasion!

Good Jeep tour. All guides very informative. We had plenty of snow and adventure unlike some of the other reviews we read from years past. We will definitely recommend this.

Best excursion I have ever done. Loved every minute of it. Because you are in a jeep you are in a very small group. Guide was brilliant and full of knowledge about everything. Worth every penny!!!

Quite enjoyed super jeep safari trip. Monster jeep great, guide very friendly and informative but just feel that trip could have been a bit more exciting although guide did say that if there had been snow he could have done more. Got a bit boring towards the end.

With two teenagers on board this trip was highly anticipated. Our jeep was fantastic but arrived 15 mins late. Not deterred, we set off for our first stop on a hill above Reykjavik. The climb up was true 4WD mode and the view well worth while but it was literally down hill from there. Despite there being only 7 of us in the vehicle, the heat was unbearable. Although we asked for it to be turned down it was cranked up yet again after our stop causing the windows to steam up. Our guide didn't say much other than to 2 Icelandic speakers in the front and eventually donned his headsets so we could hear some of what he was saying. The route was pretty similar to that taken on the Golden Circle and other than taking to some minor roads we found the route pretty dull. You do get close to the geothermal power plants which is quite interesting. The promised journey through the river did happen and would have been great if we could have seen where we were going due to the steamy windows and weren't sweltering under the extreme temperatures in the 4WD. We finally returned to Reykjavik after just 3 12 hours not the 4-5 hours promised but we were glad to finish what had been a rather dull uninspiring trip. If you are doing the Golden Circle then don't bother with this, it just isn't worth it!

I guess that this tour may be good or bad depending on the season. We went in May, and although the scenery was good, the safari took us to no more places than we could have managed in an ordinary 4x4. Don't be fooled by the thumbnail picture. There are these jeeps around, but we were given a Nissan Patrol. Not quite the same. Definitely not worth the money! I wouldn't recommend it and I wouldn't do it again.
