I did this tour my first night in Buenos Aires and I was not disappointed. Our tour guide, Nadia was fantastic! She was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable. We started at two contemporary art galleries where we had a glass of rose malbec wine. We then went to a wine bar nearby for a tasting of 4 wines. One white, two Malbec and one red blend, all of which were very good. Finally, we ended our night down the street on a rooftop bar for a glass of fernet con coke. What a wonderful start of my trip!
Nadia was a wonderful guide. We had such a lovely evening with her walking around the Palermo district both Hollywood and Soho, stopping in at two art galleries, as well as tasting wonderful wine from the Mendoza region. At Pain et Vin, we had a wonderful discussion with the salesperson. He was so knowledgeable about the region and the wines we tasted. This wasn't as good as going to Mendoza, but we didn't have a lot of time in Argentina to begin with, so this was the next best thing.
Our meeting spot was an obscure corner with a policeman in a bullet-proof vest and machine gun across the street. We were stood up completely after paying 50 bucks in taxi fare. This was our chance to learn about Malbec in Argentina. It was SO disappointing. We have never been stood up via Viator bookings. Dont trust this company. Its Urban Adventures.
Absolutely loved this tour. Small and intimate, we four of us and our guide had a tasting at an art gallery and then walked a short time to our next stop at a wine tasting place and had a sommelier go through a few tastings with us. then off to a little neighbourhood bar on the roof top for their Bueno Aries drink called Ferne. We weren't too keen on it, but it is always nice to try the local specialities.
A great evening!
My guide Laura was amazing: knowledgeable, gracious, intuitive, and very well-organized. I cannot recommend this tour enough. I took it my first night in Buenos Aires, and it wholeheartedly reinforced my enthusiasm for the entire city, as well as Malbec.
The information on this is completely misleading. There was no wine cellar, tapas. This excursion was a low quality wine and venue. I was extremely disappointed and surprised by the poor level the experience provided.
Wonderful tour that started out with a visit to an art gallery opening, enjoying a glass of wine and mingling with Argentinians and purchasing small art souvenirs. Then a wine bar with a charming and expert presentation by one of the proprietors on Argentinian wines, especially Malbecs, with ample tasting and tidbits to eat. Ending at a rooftop cafe with Fernet and Coca-Cola! Our local guide for the entire occasion was perfect and professional throughout. A lovely way to get oriented to the vibrant wine scene in Buenos Aires.
