Vue d'ensemble

This tour was amazing. The Glacier Lagoon was our favorite place we visited while in Iceland. It was a long tour but the day was planned out well. We saw a lot of the south coast on the way. Our guide was great! He knew a ton of info and we learned a lot. I would highly recommend this tour.

This is was a great tour! I would highly recommend it. The best parts were that it was a small group about 8 of us and our driver/tour guide was very knowledgeable about the country. We hit all the main spots of the south coast of Iceland and had ample time at all of them. Definitely pack snacks and water as it is a long day.

This tour of the South Coast and Lagoon was amazing! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Taking a boat ride on the lagoon was the highlight of our trip! However, you should be aware that you will not see the Skaftafell waterfall. I was disappointed that we didn't not get the chance to see Skaftafell, but other than that this tour is worth it!

Waterfalls everywhere. The waterfall stops were long enough to enjoy the beauty and to take pictures. Such a beautiful drive through farm country. Wondering what it might be like to live with a waterfall in the back yard. The glacial lagoon proved to be spectacular. One of the icebergs flipped over exposing the pure turquoise blue ice. Guide said that it is something which happens about once a month. The boat captain stopped often so we could take the pictures we wanted, and we even got to taste the glacial ice. The beaches were stunning with the black sand, floating ice chunks and powerful waves. A very long, but memorable day with a guide full of interesting stories. The small group made it easy to be at the bus at the right times so no wasted time or lost companions. Expensive, but a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

I have no hesitation at all, in giving this tour a five-star rating. My wife and I wanted a memorable day for this part of our honeymoon, and we got even more than we had hoped to get. Our tour guide was informative, and provided a great balance of keeping us on schedule and providing the flexibility to do what we wanted to do. Extra bonus stops along the way were a wonderful enhancement to the tour. Each of the stops provided enough time for us to get a sense of what was there, and to enjoy the sights at each location. Before each stop, our tour guide provided us with suggestions on the best way to enjoy the location. Between stops, he also gave us plenty of general and personal information about Iceland and its people, places, geography and history.

I'm tempted to say even more in this review, but I'm busy reviewing the hundreds of photographs I took during the day.

We specifically chose this tour, because it offered a trip to the Glacier Lagoon that could be started and finished in a day. That made it a long day for us, and an even longer day for our guide. We definitely appreciate his efforts in providing the amazing tour for us, and we are thankful for his enthusiasm and knowledge.

This tour was the best of our trip! 14 hours sounds long, but we stopped every 30-45 minutes and saw a lot, so it didn't feel like a long day. Gudjon was extremely knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts while he drove. He also stopped so we could pet horses, which was one of our favorite things. We did not see one of the waterfalls, but did add an extra stop for another glacier. All of the sights were incredibly beautiful. I would highly recommend a waterproof jacket and packing snacks.

The places we visited on this tour were great, however the minibus was unsuitable and claustrophobic. There was very little leg room or seat room or overhead storage for coats or bags. The stop times were adequate and the places visited very interesting. Unfortunately the communication between Viator and Hopferdir was lacking as we received confirmation from Viator regarding our pick up place and time when we contacted them to confirm the week before our holiday, however hopferdir didn't appear to have received this and sent last minute emails to us asking us to confirm where we were staying as they hadn't received our confirmation. Luckily I checked my emails which I don't always do.

Absolutely amazing tour!! This tour met all of my expectations, and it was the highlight of my vacation. The views were stunning, Iceland is such a beautiful country! You're picked up and dropped off right at your hotel which is super convenient. Our tour guide Good John, was super friendly, and taught us so much about sites that were part of the tour, as well as sites and scenery we passed by. If you are looking for a tour, let this be it! Being a small tour group was perfect too, and we had a very comfortable wi-fi equipped bus.
