I visited Flamingo Gardens in January 2018. I enjoyed my visit but would call this more of an animal sanctuary than a garden, although there are plants/trees/shrubs of all kinds spread out over a vast area. I did not see many flowers which is what someone who visits a garden might expect if you were visiting a botanical garden. Also I felt there was not enough signage explaining what I am seeing or where I was situated sometimes. We took the tram ride, twice, about 20 minutes total time, which takes you all through the gardens which is worthwhile and should be done to get a feel for the scope of the place. There is some explanation given of what you are seeing, but it feels a bit rushed. We then walked the entire paths afterwards to see things up close. We were there approx. 5 hours so we saw pretty much everything. The flamingos/ibis are in a set off place and are completely charming and worth seeing. We had a bite to eat at the nearby snack bar and watched their antics while we ate. There was also a show and tell of some of the animals, but only 3, so we were a bit disappointed at so few being shown up close. Overall I would say there are more birds than any other type of animal, many are rescued/injured, which is why I say more of a sanctuary. Also surprising and fun are the many birds and especially peacocks that roam around the front area. There is also the Wray House Museum to see where you are given an extremely short tour of the house, which I did not feel gives you a great sense of understanding of the people who actually started this garden. The souvenir shop is ok but we would have liked to seen more local products in it. My rating is a 3.5 on 5. Also note that you must drive to get here as there is no nearby public transportation.

We had a wonderful time and the attendants at the gardens were very nice. We would have loved to spend my time here but had to head out to return home.

Gardens were good but not much in bloom this time of year. Love the fact that it's a sanctuary for injured animals. Loved the peacocks and peahens. Best part was being able to feed flamingos! Tram was ok but again not much to see because not much was in bloom. Overall good few hours

No crowds the day we went. Tram carried only six designed for forty. I took many photos. I was glad for the heritage preserved, and we got to see more with the tram.
