Vue d'ensemble

O maior valor do passeio é a mensagem cultural.

We wanted an overview of Johannesburg with a focus on Apartheid, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The history is so complex, I was not expecting to do more than scratch the surface, but our guide fully understood what were looking for and delivered even more. Thank you, Viator, thanks Ben, and thanks to all the guides at each stop.

While the guided tour is excellent and must see for any visitor. But There are improvements to be made. Carlton centre perhaps could be eliminated but use that time at Soweto for Mandela museum which we could not do due to lack of time.

We really enjoyed this tour. We were handed off to on-site guides in the individual attractions and Nick filled us in on everything in between. Well done!

Worth every penny. I went with my 18 year old daughter and I think it was a very eye opening experience for her. Our driver was just outstanding. One of the best experiences we have has in our two weeks in SA.

Well pleased that we booked this trip before leaving the UK. The driver had driven some distance to pick my wife and I up from the airport hotel. He was well informed of the area, and we learnt a great deal from him, about the country, the area of Jo.burg, and his home town of Soweto. We spent some time collecting other guests, before leaving the vehicle, and being taken up the tallest building in Jo.burg, for views around the city. We visited Constitution Hill, which was really interesting, The old jail was a real eye opener, as to what black people had to endure in the past. The new court was also interesting. We then had the opportunity to visit the Nelson Mandela Museum, which had lots of facts about this great man, and get some lunch. Our visit to Soweto in the afternoon was my highlight of the day. It was nothing like I expected it to be. We were shown the church where the meetings were held, and the bullet holes made when the Police raided it. We were unable to go down one street due to rocks and stones littering the road, and yobs throwing missiles at passing traffic. We were informed that they were protesting about the cost of living and fuel prices. A lovely day, and well worth the experience.
