Boris was incredibly knowledgeable and articulate--our group began referring to him as a walking encyclopedia. Many of us had been to Paris multiple times and done other tours, but we all walked away with new nuggets of information and lots to talk about. Boris customized the tour for us to focus on wine. He did a nice job of planning opportunities for us to taste wine as well as intertwined the history and importance of wine in French history and the sites we visited (e.g. Notre Dame). The downside was that we spent a lot of time in the car, stuck in traffic. As a result, over six hours, we only got to stop at two wine tastings, Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower--Boris told us about some other other sites as we could see them from the car. We all would have liked to have had more time at the sites and less time in the car. Obviously it was out of Boris' control that roads were closed and traffic was heavy, but it was a disappointment nonetheless.
Boris was terrific and our driver was wonderful! We had a terrible day of bad weather--pouring rain and 30 degrees F, hopping in and out of the car as Boris patiently answered our questions and talked us through French and Parisian history over the course of six hours! We saw all of the major sights, including a quick side trip into Galleries Lafayette for a look at Christmas decor which was fun! Boris is very knowledgeable about history, as well as the background and meaning into the buildings, squares, statues, etc. of Paris. We had a great day and highly recommend this tour with Boris!
Our tour was excellent. WE were only in Paris a short time and Boris showed everything we wanted to see in more. He provided us with history that I doubt any other tour guide could have given us. He was interesting and made the tour a blast. I recommend this tour to anyone visiting Paris.
The very best private tour of Paris! Boris was constantly sharing the most important aspects of Notre Dame, the Hotel de Ville where the famous guillotine was used, Montmartre, the Eiffel tower, and other key architectural and cultural foundations of France and Paris from the Middle Ages, through the Gothic, Renaissance, Industrial, and Modern ages. He was not only educational, but also very entertaining by weaving interesting and relevant stories from each era. By the end of the tour, we were absolutely amazed at what we had experienced and learned. Ask for Boris, when you take on this 'must do' tour of Paris.
My mother, son and I took a 6hr walking tour of Paris with Boris. Even prior to the tour, he was prompt and flexible in his communication and very accommodating. On the day of our actual tour, he put up so kindly with me pushing my mother in a wheelchair and my 6-year old son being less than enthusiastic at the end of a month-long Europe visit. However, he managed to amaze us with his knowledge - not only of the city and history, but of the architecture, art, religion, culture and more. As a Parisian resident and he was also well-informed of the current sociopolitical climate as a doctorate and scholar, he knew everything one could possibly know about the region. His anecdotes added rich context to the multi-sensory experience that is Paris. Oh yes, he also took us to the Lego store so my son quite likes him as well!
Of note, I got in a bind the following day and I called Boris. He assisted immediately making a phone call for us to ensure we had transportation though it was not his responsibility - literally saving the day. His service was certainly above and beyond, much appreciated and not forgotten.
I look forward to meeting Boris again next time we are in Paris and will wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone in the area!
Our short but truly amazing Paris rendezvous was made more exciting by our guide Boris Petrovic. He made the landmarks in Paris come alive with his narrative that is easy to understand even by our children. Boris speaks very fluent English and that makes for an excellent engagement. I would highly recommend this trip for those who are short of time and for Boris take you to the same tour and to a special place of your preference. The trip will make you comeback to Paris and stay longer.
Our tour guide, Boris, was the best we could possibly have hoped for. He and our driver took us first to Notre Dame, then a lunch at the oldest restaurant in Paris, once frequented by Napoleon, Jefferson, Franklin, Robespierre and Voltaire. Next up was the Pantheon, the Louvre and the Eiffel tower. Lastly my wife was able to buy a purse at Louie Vitton. Boris brought us back to the train station just in time for boarding, making sure we qued up in the proper line for customs. We will be back. This was for our family of 5, my wife and i and three boys 8,11 and 13.
