Appris à apprécier la qualité du champagne français. Excellent guide.

I give this tour a 1 Star because the champagne was delicious. The rest of the experience was not pleasant.

8 guests are crammed into a van which really should only hold 6. 2 people are seated in the front on a bench seat so you are either jammed against the door or the driver depending on where you are seated. The driver was a nice man who clearly had a meal with garlic the night before. He also was unclear of directions so was typing on his GPS frequently. He also sent text several times while driving. He had some basic knowledge of the area. I dont know his name. Not sure he gave it.

For the price, you get 2 glasses of champagne. Thats it. There is no opportunity to taste any of the other options.

The cathedral in Reims was beautiful but its not necessary to spend 2 hours there. Would rather have had another champagne wine tasting.

Save your money. Do not purchase this tour.

After taking this tour, I'm shocked it's ranked so highly. At the 2 champagne houses, admission was 20-30 per person for the tour and tasting of 1 glass which is what this tour included. It would have been far cheaper for us to rent a car or hire a driver for the day than to spend 460 on 2 people for 4 glasses of champagne total. The listing said the tour includes a tasting at 3 champagne houses, but we only went to 2. I'm not sure if this was a result of our driver we were early to GH Mumm and Moet so it wasn't a result of us being behind schedule/a time savings or misinterpretting the listing but it says:

Champagne tastings at Moet and Chandon, Hautvillers, and the House of Mumm

With respect to the transportation, I expected a bit more. We were in a Volkswagon van and I had the middle seat up front -- basically with the driver shifting into me and my knees against the dashboard. I think you should strongly consider limiting the tour to 6 or 7 guests instead of 8 as sitting in the middle front seat a bench front row seat I haven't seen since an '87 buick. Our guide was really just a driver and didn't provide any value or add to the trip. He took us from A to B and did not offer any bits of knowledge above that.

The Champagne houses themselves were fantastic! I would absolutely go back to both and loved our tours. I'd highly recommend going, just not on this tour.

This is my third Viator tour within the past year and likely will be my last. Underwhelming and overpriced.

Disappointing misrepresentation by provider. Promotes that breakfast and lunch are provided, and that you visit 3 champagne houses. No breakfast. Lunch was on our own. Visited only 2 champagne houses. Little value add from your guide. View this as renting a shared van to visit 2 champagne houses

Every trip to Paris should include a tour of Champagne! This one is great-small intimate groups with a guide. Jean-Marc was great and had heaps of local knowledge.

well worth the time and price

The guide was fine but only took us to 2 places and a 2 and a half hours in a town that most places were closed so it was 2 glasses of champagne and a drive ridiculous amount of money for the drive

what an excellent tour. although we traveled pretty early in the morning--for vacation time--our tour guide was kind, humorous and engaging. he got to know each of us individually and seemed genuinely excited to give us context for our tour from paris to champagne and in through the passing towns. the stops at the vineyard, the church, and in Reims were delightful and broke up the monotony that can occur during a long drive. moet and chardon and the house of mumm were amazing experiences. both tours had both teachable and wow moments. tips: bring a jacket especially if it's rainy because the cellars are porous and the wine has to be kept a low temperature. overall, excellent experience. great choice.

I definitely recommend a trip to Champagne while you're in France, but consider a different tour. Essentially you're just paying for the ride to/from Paris which is convenient, but the train is cheaper and faster. We sat in a lot of traffic on the way home. At the start of the day, we were scolded for being 5 minutes late to the pick-up, and while our guide spoke english, his accent was so thick that it was really hard to understand anything he was saying. I wanted to learn, but I couldn't follow what he was saying. Plus, he constantly stopped talking to give the driver directions, which made it even more challenging to listen to. Once in Champagne, granted they've pre-paid for the Champagne house visits, they just drop you off for the tours and in town for lunch. You could easily pre-book the tours yourself for less, and choose the houses you want to visit. If you're looking for hassle free transportation, book this tour, but if you're OK doing a bit of the pre-work, consider going on your own either by train or renting a car. With that said, I really enjoyed the guided tour of Moet and Chandon. It was led by a Moet and Chandon employee and was very well organized. I learned a lot and had fun. The tour of Mumm was OK, but didn't compare to the excellent tour at Moet and Chandon.

This was a really nice chance to get out of Paris and experience a little bit of the Champagne countryside. It was essentially 2 tours of 2 different Champagne houses, with a lunch break and self-wander around Reims. The information at Moet and Chandon and Mumm was very interesting, but unfortunately, once we'd heard it in the first tour of Moet's caves, we probably didn't really need to do it again. The 2 places are quite interesting to compare, but I would probably have preferred to spend a little more time tasting a few different champagnes, not just drinking the one glass of the most basic cuvee of each house, especially after being told all about the different grapes, blends etc. Having said that, it was enjoyable and the wines, countryside, and company, were very nice.
