Make sure that you look at your e ticket to ensure you know where to go. We started this tour in a souvenir shop about 3 or 4 blocks from the Eiffel Tower. There was a bit of waiting here before we had a walking procession to the Tower. Once there, we did indeed skip the line through security which was good because the lines were very long then there is our lovely guide yelling at us as there are so many people trying to tell us a history of the tower. After this overview, we then went through a SEMI skip the line entrance to the elevator to the viewing platform. Here is where the hoards of millions of tourists are taking photos every which way. The views are fabulous but there really is only a limited area in which to take the photos, so be prepared for a wait. After many photos, we then went to the river very close to the Tower and took a one-hour boat cruise included in this tour up to the Isle De La Cite Notre Dame and back with a very good and comedic commentary. We were lucky and had good weather because if we had to sit IN the boat and not on top, then we would not have seen very much and there is just sooooooooooooooo much to see. For the money, it was a great tour but the first part meeting point, walking, history etc was quite long, we just wanted to go to the Tower. You will enjoy it and it was very much a skip the line once at the Tower.
Not a very rewarding experience! First, it was difficult to find the meeting point. Once we located it after asking some locals for directions, we found there were two unorganized guides trying to sort through people's vouchers. From our time of arrival until we finally got to the skip the line, one hour passed. Plus, the security lines were short so that did not contribute to the disorganization. When we got to the second level, we just left the group and did the viewing on our own. The boat ride was worth our time-well-organized and picturesque. Overall, I would say just do the tower on your own or, at least, don't do the skip-the-line.
We have never been so disappointed!! We finally made it to the meeting point and our tour guide did not have on the clothes that our email said to look for so my husband went up to her and showed her voucher and ask her if we were in the right place and had the right voucher. She said yes so we got in line with the others. Once we got to the Eiffel tour with the group we got thru the first check all the way to enter the tour and the gentleman said you have to have your tickets where are your tickets, my husband said our guide said this is what we needed. He said no you have to have tickets. My husband went back and found our guide and she acted like she did not know him nor had seen him, she pretty much called us liars! We did not get to go up the tower or on our river cruise. We were so upset and lost all our money! MAKE SURE YOU TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR GUIDE, MAKE SURE SHE GIVES YOU A TICKET!
Well, you asked.....hope you will make some improvements. Meeting place could have been clearer. Once about 16 people had been rounded up, our very unenthusiastic guide herded us all over to the Eiffel Tower. We went through Security screening then entered the elevator. After exiting the elevator, our guide said a few words about the structure and seemed quite bored with her job. She passed out passes for the cruise portion of the ticket, then we were on our own. After we left, we realized we had missed an informational display that would have given us at least a little more history and guidance. The least our guide could have done was point this out.
The river cruise was fine....an overview of the sights that I expected.
Definitely not worth 100 US.
