I booked half of day of wine tour in Alsace for my partner's birthday.
Being French, I am used to drive in the countryside on my own and stopping by for trying good products... so i was a bit skeptical: will we go only to tourists places, trying enough wines will we be a bigger coach than expected, will the guide be knowledgeable enough...
And the answer is just GO! we were 8 people the max.. Pauline, our guide was great: friendly, funny, full of energy, commenting all the way long. She was also really good at putting people at ease and creating a group atmosphere.
We tried more than 12 different wines, and it was not only a sip... I only regret I was driving in the evening so had to share the last ones with my partner!
The 2 wine places were very different but all great! We learnt a lot and bought many bottles...quality was not comparable to what we find in supermarkets. They were all delicious!
Thanks again Pauline for your kindness and your smile! We had an amazing time.

To put it in a nutshell, you will not be disappointed!

Not worth the money. Having said that, our tour guide Florence made up for it with her knowledge of the region. The wineries visited were mediocre.

My husband and I visited Strasbourg in May. We booked the half-day tour and were absolutely delighted to spend the afternoon touring two vineyards on the Alsace Wine Route with Pauline. Pauline truly loves what she does and was incredibly informative - we felt like locals by the end of the day, as she shared not only her knowledge of the art of Alsatian winemaking but also local history as we traveled. There wasn't a question we asked that she wasn't able to answer, and we asked a LOT of questions. A wonderful experience and highly recommended!

Excellent tour guide, knowledgeable and informative. Small group which made the experience pleasurable. The towns and vineyards visited were quaint and charming.

What a fantastic wine tour! Our guide Pauline was amazing - so knowledgeable about the region, and also about french wines in general. We visited two boutique vineyards, and Pauline has such a good rapport with the owners that it felt like a really personal and intimate experience. We walked through the vines, talked about how they are grown depending on individual microclimates and then obviously got to sample the amazing wines they produce. The Alsace is predominantly white wines - but if you're not usually a white wine drinker I wouldn't let that put you off - she is very knowledgeable about all wines, and the whites are seriously good! We have been to a fair few wine tastings in France, but I have to say this was the best, we cannot recommend it highly enough!!
